Authorities and firefighters arrived on the scene after 1:35 a.m. after receiving a call about a possible fight.? Deputies arrived to find a woman yelling and waiving for their attention.

There was fire burning near a garage door. Authorities estimated the flames were 20 feet in circumference. They later determined the fire contained Ehlo?s clothing.

Deputies said two males were holding Ehlo down when they arrived on scene. A deputy detained Ehlo and put him in a patrol car.

People at the scene told deputies that Ehlo and his wife had an argument with Ehlo earlier in the evening. The family later heard a strange noise coming from the garage according to witnesses. The witnesses told authorities that they went outside and found Ehlo piling up his own clothing and starting them on fire. Deputies said the witnessed believe Ehlo was going to run into the flames so they held him down.

The flames according to authorities damaged a portion of the house.

Ehlo played basketball for Washington State University from 1981-1983 before a 14-year career in the NBA.

Ehlo, who many people recognize as a broadcaster for Seattle Sonics and Gonzaga basketball games, spent three seasons as head coach at Rogers High School in Spokane and was an assistant basketball coach at Eastern Washington University from 2011 until July, when he resigned his position.
